Trump’s enemies thought they had him cornered.

But Trump is smart like a fox.

And he was able to outmaneuver them with one unprecedented legal move.

After Judge Arthur Engoron ruled against Trump in the Manhattan civil case and forced him to pay $355 million, many Democrats seemed to think that case was over.

They expected him to simply pay up the money and take the loss without continuing to fight back against them.

But Trump never gives up, and he is refusing to go quietly into that good night.

After all, he’s been counted out before, such as in 2016 when no one gave him a chance to defeat Hillary Clinton, and he did anyway.

His fans expect him to always be a fighter, and that’s exactly what he has been trying to do in this case even after Democrats thought they had him beat.

He and his attorneys came up with a plan to hit back against Engoron’s unfair ruling and turn this into a win for Trump.

And they had a brilliant legal maneuver up their sleeves that their Democrat opponents were not expecting at all.

According to the New York Post, “Former President Donald Trump will contest Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron’s definition of ‘fraud’ when he appeals the $355 million judgment made against him last week in his civil trial, according to his lawyer.

“‘The case raises serious legal and constitutional questions regarding ‘fraud’ claims/findings without any actual fraud,’ Trump’s attorney, Christopher Kise, told Newsweek Monday.

“Kise further charged that Engoron and New York Attorney General Letitia James – both Democrats – are attempting to force Trump out of New York to the detriment of the city.

“The lawyer did not specify exactly when an appeal would be filed, noting that the timing ‘will depend on many factors’ but will ‘fall within the 30-day clock’ allowed by the court, the outlet reported.”

Not only are these Democrats trying to force Trump out of New York, but they are trying to use the legal system to defund his presidential campaign, much of which is self-funded.

The article continues, “Trump’s appeal will need to demonstrate that James does not possess the power to punish him ‘without showing the traditional elements of fraud: (1) scienter—basically intent to defraud, (2) false statements of fact rather than opinion or trade puffing, (3) reasonable reliance by the victims, (4) materiality, (5) causation, and (6) damages,’ Syracuse University of Law Professor Greg Germain told Newsweek.”

It will be fascinating to follow this appeal and see how Trump’s arguments fare in front of a different judge, presumably one who will be less biased than Engoron.

Trump and his attorneys are banking on the hope that they will get a fair trial in a different court.

Engoron clearly had a bias against Trump due to his politics and handed down an unjust ruling.

But now Trump is hitting back against this ruling with a legal maneuver that his Democrat opponents were never expecting him to make.
