Joe Biden was furious to hear what this top Democrat did to help Trump.

He thought he could count on the endorsement of this loyal ally.

But instead, this Democrat did a generous favor for Trump after dropping out.

Joe Manchin is one of the rare Democrats in America who represents a red state, West Virginia, in the U.S. Senate.

West Virginia is one of the most rural states in the entire country, and it is one that has consistently voted for Republicans, including Trump, in recent years.

Manchin has been able to survive politically by positioning himself as a “moderate.” His voting record doesn’t always line up with that, as he frequently votes for very liberal bills, but he makes a lot of public statements that contradict his party.

However, he has always been a loyal party soldier when it comes to supporting the nominee.

Many had speculated that Manchin was going to run for president in 2024, but he ended up dropping out and deciding not to run.

When that happened, Biden was certainly expecting Manchin to fall in line and throw his support behind the ticket.

That is not what happened. Manchin ended up telling the world what he really thought about Biden’s ability to lead the nation, and in the process he did Trump a tremendous favor.

According to Breitbart, “On Monday’s broadcast of CNN’s ‘The Source,’ Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) said that President Joe Biden is not the person who has the knowledge, function, and ability to unite the country and has been ‘pushed’ too far left and he hopes Biden can go back to being who he was before.”

Here is what the host, Kaitlan Collins, asked Manchin: “You also said that, in a president, you’re looking for someone…who has the knowledge, has the function, and has the ability to…bring this country together. Is Joe Biden that candidate?”

And here is how Manchin responded: “Well, that’s the Joe Biden I used to know. I’ve — and I’ve had this conversation with him and with his people that he’s gone too far to the left, they’ve pushed him and pulled him and whatever. But that’s not where America is. That’s not where our country is. So, I’m hoping the Joe Biden that we saw in 2020 will be the Joe Biden we see in 2024, if that can be done.”

This is a devastating blow for Biden, who has to win the votes of moderate, independent voters in Rust Belt states to retain the presidency.

Manchin understands what those voters are looking for, and he is signaling to them in this interview that Biden is not the candidate to vote for.

His conspicuous non-endorsement of Biden could cost the president countless votes in key states.

And it could end up serving as a massive favor to Trump, who will stand to gain those votes and potentially win those states.

If Biden is losing old-school Democrats like Joe Manchin, then his chances of winning re-election are not looking good at all.
