Liz Cheney realized that her efforts to stop Trump had failed.
She hung her head and conceded defeat.
And now Trump is celebrating after vanquishing Liz Cheney for the last time.
One of the main goals of Democrats and RINO Republicans, who claim to be the “defenders of democracy,” is to undermine democracy by kicking Trump off the ballot and removing the choice of voters in 2024.
One of the key players in that has been Liz Cheney, who led the impeachment efforts against Trump the second time, after he had already left office.
The purpose of that impeachment was to disqualify Trump from ever holding office again, and Liz Cheney has been fervently committed to that goal even after losing re-election herself.
But things have not gone so well for her or the Democrats she has allied herself with, and now reality is finally starting to set in.
Trump is going to be on the ballot, and there is nothing Cheney or anyone else can do about it.
And she has conceded defeat in her efforts to keep him from running for president in the 2024 election.
According to CBS News, Cheney strongly implied that Democrats will have to face Trump on the ballot in 2024. She said in the interview, “In the meantime, and in any case, we have to be prepared to ensure that we can defeat him at the ballot box, which ultimately I believe we’ll be able to do.”
This is in spite of the fact that in a separate part of the interview, Cheney said: “I certainly believe that Donald Trump’s behavior rose to that level. I believe that he ought to be disqualified from holding office in the future.”
This is nothing short of a concession of defeat by Liz Cheney. She believes Trump should not be allowed to hold office, but she believes he will have to be defeated at the ballot box – which implies that she does not expect the courts to agree with her position.
The article continues, “The Supreme Court has agreed to hear a high-stakes decision from Colorado’s top court that barred Trump from the state’s primary ballot, citing the Constitution’s insurrection clause. The clause bars a person who has sworn an oath to the Constitution and engages in insurrection from holding public office.”
Of course, the Colorado case matters little to the overall election, as Colorado is not considered one of the main swing states that will decide the election.
And Liz Cheney knows that, since she is now urging Democrats to turn their focus on defeating Trump at the ballot box, rather than keep him off of it completely.
The efforts to disqualify Trump from running for president are not going smoothly.
Even his most ardent enemies are starting to realize that the ship is sinking, and it’s time to get off.
Liz Cheney has conceded defeat in her efforts to keep Trump off the ballot, and she is telling her anti-Trump allies to turn their attention to other things.
