Paul Ryan tried to launch an attack on Trump but made a humiliating blunder.

He didn’t mean to let these four words slip.

And now he’s getting brutally mocked for the mistake that he made during his attack on Trump.

Paul Ryan has been nothing but a laughingstock for conservatives since the day that he left office as speaker of the House.

In his time as speaker, he was the very definition of a politician who refused to fight back against the Left but was instead concerned about acting as a hall monitor for conservatives who he thought were too rude.

Ever since he stepped down, it has only gotten worse, likely because he doesn’t have to worry about re-election anymore.

He attacks Trump and other Republicans on a regular basis for not being “civil” enough for his tastes.

But one recent attack on Trump did not go well.

He let two names slip out of his mouth of people who are despised by conservatives: Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger.

And by praising those two, he confirmed what so many conservatives have thought about Paul Ryan for years.

According to Yahoo! News, “Paul Ryan, the Republican former House speaker-turned-Fox Corp. board member, has summed up Donald Trump as a ‘populist, authoritarian narcissist.’

“The former president is ‘not a conservative,’ Ryan declared during a recent virtual interview hosted by CEO advisory firm Teneo that the Republican Accountability group unearthed and shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday.

“Trump’s tendencies ‘are basically where narcissism takes him, which is whatever makes him popular, makes him feel good at any given moment,’ Ryan said. ‘He doesn’t think in classical “liberal-conservative” terms. He thinks in an authoritarian way. And he’s been able to get a big chunk of the Republican base to follow him because he’s the culture warrior.’”

But Ryan went far beyond this criticism of Trump when he brought two names into the equation who have become persona non grata on the right.

He was asked about Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger, and responded to the question with nothing but praise for these two rogue politicians who hate conservatives.

The article continues, “Ryan, who served in Congress as a Wisconsin Republican, talked about how former Reps. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) and Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.) had ‘paid for’ their criticism of Trump with their congressional careers.”

It’s ironic that Paul Ryan is decrying authoritarianism while praising Liz Cheney, whose father created the biggest spy state in the entire world to monitor American citizens.

Of course, in her time in Congress, Liz Cheney supported those programs just as fervently as her father did. And Ryan was a staunch backer of the surveillance state as well, pushing these programs through for reauthorization as speaker.

If Paul Ryan wants to see an authoritarian, he simply has to look in the mirror. And the same goes for Liz Cheney.

Paul Ryan has buried his reputation with conservatives even further after his latest comments about Trump and his praise for Liz Cheney.
